The AWS Class E410-16 electrodes are specifically crafted for welding 12% chromium martensitic stainless steels. Typically, their composition features 11.5–13.5% chromium, 0.08–0.15% carbon, along with manganese, silicon, and trace elements that enhance weld strength. These electrodes create a robust, hard weld metal that offers excellent resistance to abrasion and moderate corrosion. When properly heat-treated, the mechanical properties usually include a tensile strength ranging from about 550 to 650 MPa, along with good ductility and toughness. This combination ensures that the welds are durable enough to handle wear, stress, and high temperatures in challenging environments.
